Anxiety is a normal and healthy physiological response to a threat in the environment. However, anxiety can be become a disorder when we develop out-of-proportion anxiety responses to things most of us cope with easily.
In 2019, the Child Mind Institute published their 2018 Children’s Mental Health Report, providing a look at how widespread child and adolescent anxiety really is. On this episode, Ameé speaks again with Jax Anderson, a Wisconsin-based therapist that specializes in working with teenagers, about the signs of anxiety in children, the risks associated and what treatment options are available.
